i was sitting in a café thinking of how to do my essays this afternoon. obviously, i wasn’t concentrating with the serious things because there was so much happening behind me. yea, i was eavesdropping the girls talking and laughing behind me. they talked about some kind of romance thing and problem. then they talked about a guy who is gorgeous, nice, friendly, educated, with good education, blah blah blah. he is simply perfect. that made me thinks, what is ‘perfect’?
what’s ‘perfect’?

perfect proportion ?!
according to the cambridge dictionary, ‘perfect’ basically means absolutely flawless, ideal and accurate. therefore, a perfect guy means an ideal man in terms of appearance and characters, right?!
why do we always look for perfection?
it is because we always assume perfection is great. it simply suits whatever you have dreamt of. if your partner is perfect, it means you wouldn’t have to change for him/her. because he/she is simply perfect and would do whatever you want no matter how ridiculous it is. sounds awesome, yea?
hold on
perfection is not what we exactly want. according to a study from a dating website, woman doesn’t usually look for perfect guy. they look for man who are a bit geeky, a bit rough and can get ready quickly instead of spending an hour in the bathroom fussing over appearance.
more importantly, we can never be perfect. it doesn’t take 2 people to make up a perfect relationship. rather, it takes 2 imperfect people who want to be perfect for each other to make a perfect couple. the drive for being a better person for their love makes a better relationship.
therefore, we shouldn’t bother to find ‘the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend. be a better person. and you be in a perfect relationship.three tips from me:
- be considerate
yelling and speaking bad words doesn’t help in any arguments. think from the perspectives of your boyfriend/girlfriend. there is always a reason for their thought. there’s no perfect solution in romance. there is just better solution when you view from another angle.
- be lovely
complaining about your imperfection doesn’t help. it makes you feel bad and unworthy. accept your tiny little imperfections, like tiny pimple on your face. come on. it’s just a pimple. it looks cute.
- be happy

being dull and discouraging doesn’t help. as we aren’t and never will be perfect, so live with it and smile! you can’t avoid bad things from happening but you can deal with it with another attitude, a positive one. we are not a problem. we are a problem solver.

imperfect focus but perfect chocolate
for me perfect is ‘to accept and appreciate imperfections.’
last but not least, something that you can try right now and make yourself a better person. although the video seems solely about make-up, it’s more about how you can laugh with imperfections in life. i hope you guys would love the video.
